The Share
We walk every morning
& consider yourself lucky !! I chuckle, ’cause this Land of Happy we tread upon was once my sacred place of ! ME ! where !! alone !! I would long ago solo step, step, step, surrounded in a great, big, glorious bubble of shhhh
shhhhh
But alas, those days have become few and far between.
But that’s ok.
The man I call Husband and I have traveled one heck of a road to get to this new here and now & honestly, I don’t mind the share.
You see, hospital visits, uncertainty and slowed down versions of everything filled our Summer of 2019 (June 24th) so don’t mind me while I reminisce, for my Happy Book reminds me, these moments in July were his fever days, where he’d randomly talk to dream visitors and wonder out loud, Stay ? Go ?
And as I jot entries onto this summer’s lines each evening, I can’t help but peek back and thumb through, timidly tip-toeing into this time, last year, somewhat afraid of what I will find.
Did I actually follow my mantra of stay focused No. Matter. What. ?? Did I keep my head above water by concentrating on the affirmative or did I succumb a time or three to the drumbeat of I can’t, I won’t, I give up …
Welp. I’m thrilled to report, so far, so good. Fueled by the kindness and compassion of others my memories of what could be considered WORSE are flooded with a whole bunch of BEST.
So what’s my point ??
Some would consider the whole, entire Year 2020 we are living a humongous journal of !! UGH !! and in a lot of ways, I agree. But after experiencing what I deem our Prelude to Corona, I KNOW all I have to do is seek and I WILL absolutely find. Good is always, always, ALWAYS and everywhere there! obvious or not so, it is most often discovered as an afterthought, mixed among the tough and terrible, the frightening and confused. But, I promise, it IS.
As we continue this Covid-19, mask, no mask WHATTHEHECKISGOINGON trek we find ourselves on, do 2021 a favor by keeping your eyeballs centered on positivity and write those awesome vibes down !! Your future self will be happy you did, your today’s self will be happy you do
