Step By Step

Step By Step

& so, we walk (The Share).

And incredibly turtle-like we started back in March when the Cardio 3 regimen he had !!  just now !! started was brought to a screeching halt by the beast called Corona

& ok. WHAT to do ??  HOW  to do ?? we pondered. Gaining strength was the main focus and somewhat daunting goal he had set his sights upon because for every day spent in a hospital, we were told, he needs 3-5 days to recover. And ummm. I’m not all that smart at Arithmetic, but 74 days x … uh-huh, this might take awhile

& I’m not a physical therapist or a doc or a nurse or a let’s get ya back in shape!! motivator. Nope. I’m a simple soul who finds inspiration on daily walks. I write. I walk. That’s it. That’s what I do.  And I enjoy the company of quiet, of me, myself and I so, truth be told ?? I really wasn’t all that crazy about changing my pattern or allowing another anybody in, even if that someone was Husband. But, errrr. We really had no other choice, did we Covid-19 ??

So bundled up and inching along, we began.

And the thing I love most about walking, besides

and

and

and

are the smiling faces, the Good Morning ! greeters, the How ya doin?? peeps. And when one’s routine brings them to the park, more or less, the same time every day ?? Those Encourage-rs become THE best people on this planet.

Keep going !!

You’re getting faster !!

Lookin’ GOOD !!

Don’t stop !!

they express, as they witness The Man With The Red Cane’s slow and steady progress. His cheering section grows each and every time we step, step, step as does ours when we see a struggle here, determination there in a kaleidoscope of wonderfulness called Oh Yes I Can

And YaY ! How awesome, the human spirit.

I suppose someday in the not all that far away future I shall return to my Land of Shhhh where Barry Manilow fills my ears and nature beckons and soothes. And I suppose one day, he too, will relish the joy of a solo walk. But right here and right now ??

Stronger he is, enlightened I be, thankful we are

& so, we walk.

🙂
