She’s A Magnet

She’s A Magnet

She fell in September of 2019 and although we have talked about the what’s and how’s and when’s, there she patiently waits,

my big, bald, broken friend

& he thinks I’m mistaken and a little bit crazy but, I’m determined to stand firm with my she deserves a proper sendoff  declaration. Yes, I KNOW she can’t stay there forever but there HAS to be a better way than the obvious fire pit route. I need her memorialized, for she has listened to sooooo many rants and whispers, tears and joys

& with that, a birthday present will be arriving soon. My offspring and their someones are arranging her goodbye. She will be cut up and stacked, with bits and pieces becoming frames and artwork and necklace dangles. I will plant another tree in her spot. A cottonwood ? A lilac ? hmmm. And although my heart aches to see her go, I know she must.

But until that day, she’ll continue her enchanting ways.

One board sits on the southeast side, the other, northwest, placed upon to help those little legs maneuver the climb. When asked if we minded ??  ohmygosh !! doooo !! please dooooo !! we exclaimed and every day they can, they are there, imagination and giggles in tow.   Pirate ships or monster trucks or missions to Mars ?? Who know what delight runs through those curious, inventive minds. All I know, all I see is a whole lotta gleeeeee as I glance outside and smile.

& I think, her’s is the most beautiful energy I have ever experienced.

Then.

Still.

& although I know I must inevitably, eventually part ways with my dinosaur, my secret holder, my lifeline, I think I’ll let her hang around just a few more today-s ’cause there are mountains to be climbed, adventures to be conquered and infectious, youthful laughter to be enjoyed.

She’s a magnet

& her irresistible inspiration lives on …
