I’m pretty positive I speak for all the introverts of the world when I say Social Distancing ??!? YEP. Been there. Done that.
Cause, errr, ummm that’s me, it’s how I roll. Which takes me back to a not so long ago conversation with Child #3 …
Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert ? she asked & at first, I thought she was kidding.
Isn’t it obvious ?
Or maybe she just needed to hear the cold, hard truth straight from me
& so
she inquired once more …

This time I gave her my answer without pause.
I really didn’t have to ponder it at all.
I’m an introvert, I replied.
FOR SURE.
& then I wondered, is there such a thing as an introverted introvert?
hmmm.
I’ll have to Google.
This very extroverted daughter of mine went on to explain that certain situations bring out the introvert in her
& as I recalled how she earphones in ears, hoodie on head, don’t even think about talking to me travels, I had to agree.
But me ?
Am I ever extroverted ?

hmmm.
I think I’m hoping to be.
Sometimes.
I’m pretty sure the writer in me wants to bust out my extrovert.
I think she’s trying really, really hard.
But, one of the qualities of being an introvert is the tendency to be preoccupied with one’s own thoughts.

Preoccupied with thoughts.
Oh. Yeah.
Now, THAT’S me.
I could live in a world of preoccupied thoughts.
Sounds rather lovely, actually.
A far away from civilization log cabin in the mountains
only me, my musings and my notebook.

I’d have to have internet.
I’d want my words sent out to you fine people of the world
& I’d need a way to yap to my family every day because I love to yap to my family
& Google.
I adore Google.
So yeah.

I guess I would want a little grocery store close by,
gotta have my PBJ’s.
& those friendly faces I need to see every now and again ?
Yeah.

Oh & I can’t go very long without Grandsons’ hugs
& the Chicago Bears.
