Slightly Slanted

Slightly Slanted

Way, wayyyy back in the day when Teacher was teaching us young ones cursive, we would practice our technique by drawing lines.
The idea was to conquer those lines before we moved over to letters.

On the chalkboard, on the writing chart, on other kids’ papers.
////////////////////
Nice, perfect, just right, lines

& mine ?
My right handed lines tended to slant left.
Every time.
All the time.
Even when I adjusted the paper to force the lines to go the ‘right’ way, they’d go left
& once I mastered the art of cursive, my letters would lean left too.

Left.
Left.
Left.

It drove one educator absolutely crazy yet, another thought my handwriting was sent to him from Heaven above
& nowadays ?
Nowadays, my signature is a stand up straight like a soldier, combination of print and curves.

Go. Figure.

Regular readers of this blog may notice that I have a thing for exclamation points.
I ADORE THEM
& try as I might to tone them down, most days it’s near impossible
& I really, truly also love separating my exclamation points ! ! ! so each one can show off it’s own self.

I like to disconnect my question marks from my questions too.
Why ?
Don’t ask me, it’s just the way I do what I do

& while I’m at it, I’m not all that fond of paragraphs either.
My blocks are more chopped up.
I like them better that way.
It’s how I write
& btw, it took me a whole lotta moments to become ok with how I write, with this, with that, with me.
Too many years rolled by with my brain insisting, “You’re. Weird”.

Hey, do me a favor, would ya ??
Don’t take as long as I did to discover a very simple, awesome fact.

I’m unique

YaY

& you’re unique.

YaY

We are all so perfectly UNIQUE
& isn’t that absolutely wonderful ? ! ?

Cheers ! to finding that just right, happy with yourself,  YOU.
& more cheers ! to listening to the inner voice that will surely guide you, if you only shhhhhhh, listen

& super duper cheers and a BIG YIPPPPPPEEEEEE for cursive lines, separated paragraphs and enthusiastic exclamation points.
They helped me discover Me

! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

& cheers to one more cheer !
Finding. Living. Being YOU.

Uniquely unique you.
