Small Things

Small Things

As I looked out my window bright and early yesterday morning, I had the pleasure of witnessing two baby bunnies frolicking, hopping, jumping about as they teased and tagged one another.

As the morning moved along, I stepped outside and took notice of the cottonwood trees and their infinite fuzzies that had quietly fallen upon my lawn.  Hello, snowfall in June.

& YaY

I had the time to take my treasure of a walk around a park I truly adore !! where a busy beaver

& an inquisitive deer

made themselves known.

The fields were bursting with color

and the sky worked it’s wonder.

I came home to a backyard cluster of trees who wished to be acknowledged

& a log that patiently rests beside my porch had a cheery something to say.

And as I sat in the thisclose to Summer sunset, rereading a book I very much enjoy reading, the perfect words appeared for me to see

“If you will stay close to nature, to its simplicity, to the small things hardly noticeable, those things can unexpectedly become great and immeasurable.”

Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

Great and immeasurable, indeed.
