Dear Christians
It’s true.
Born and raised Catholic, I struggled for a long, L O N G while,
because what I was seeking, I could not find in a church.
and it wasn’t until Mom left this life, in 2007,
when I hit my emotional bottom,
when I grasped the lifeline of walking,
when I discovered the therapy in writing,
where I found Him, patiently waiting, unconditionally accepting.
And the KNOWING attached to this total, complete acceptance is so beautifully indescribable, I am often brought to tears.
And I realize
and many, MANY quiet souls go about their every days, sharing kindness in a million, unassuming ways,
and I promise, it’s not those, I ponder.
No, I wonder most about the LOUD, boisterous ones, those who file into their building each week,
who sit and sing and and pray and vow
but go back to their hateful ways,
only to come back to do all over again,
and again
and again.
My heart aches for those Christians, dear Christians,
and I truly hope one day they will embrace the magnificent simpleness,
the incredible, easy energy,
the most genuine, perfect vibe
of this humble friend,

I call Jesus.
