My Halloween Eve Ghost Story
I’ve been told I’ve shouted, Go AWAY !, Give me my life ! I will kill you ! that I thrash around as if I am in one heck of a fight, and mumble names of family and friends to grab me, save me, help me
& Halloween Eve seems like the perfect time to tell my ghost story
It’s called Sleep Paralysis and for well over ten years now, it’s happened to me.
Not relentlessly, but enough to deem me an unwilling expert.
grrr.
Google, as always, describes these occasional nighttime ordeals best.
Yep.
That’s it, exactly
and it sure ain’t fun.
Fortunately, my nocturnal visitor doesn’t pop in to see me all that often anymore,
but a few months back, when I was cozily dozing on my favorite recliner …
BAM.
There he (he feels like a he) was
holding, taunting, daring me to try to maneuver out of his darkness
& normally after he and I duke it out ?? I wake up shaken, confused, scared
but this time ?
I took notes.

Broke through.
Felt shift.
uh-huh.
THIS. TIME.
I was filled with anger, flat-out PISSED, as I vowed, I’m not going to let this, HIM, happen anymore.
You want a fight, mister ?!?
You got it.
Because I am sick and tired of cowering and wondering and fearing you and your damn bully-ness
& while I’m at it, can anyone else feel the hardheartedness surrounding this world of ours ?

It’s palpable, shameful and absolutely suffocating
and ENOUGH, I have had enough.
Consider this a summons, carriers of hate.
I will do everything I can to write the words or do the deeds or take the action.
I will be kind and considerate and helpful and compassionate to every single everyone I meet, and I will do my part to help Love conquer
and believe me, Love WILL conquer.
So, come out of your dismal hideaway, my sneaky, persistent coward
I am empowered now, determined
& quite simply,
sooooooo not afraid anymore.

& how’s that for a Halloween Eve ghost story ?
♥
