You. Just. Never. Know.

You. Just. Never. Know.

Just in case you haven’t noticed this about me …
Yep.
It’s true.
I’m a sucker.

For a fundraiser.
For a good cause.
For a down on your luck, sob story.
For a Hey buddy, can you spare a dime …
For only five dollars and we’ll hit our goal
You name it.
I’ll believe it.

uh-huh.
Every. Time.

Family registered me in a Gullible Protection Program years ago, to no avail,
& I’ve heard whispers of Hide Mom! at tailgates, stores, wherever the money seekers seek.
I must have a neon PICK ME flashing over my head though, those searchers surely find
& I always gift a couple quarters.

That’s why I hope to win the lottery, one glorious day.
So I can give it all away.
But don’t go getting those hopes up too high, my peeps.
I’ve heard you have to play the lottery, to win the lottery.
soooo …

Sister and I have time after time explained.
You never know.
You. Just. Never. Know.

& there sat my dilemma, as I watched out the car window, while Husband pumped gasoline.
A wrinkled, ruffled man at a busy intersection, seeking funds.

hmmmm.
I wonder how many humans actually carry cash these days ??

(besides me, of course)
hmmmm.
Maybe I can time the light so as to avoid this awkwardness … ??
hmmmm.
How can I deliver a $10.00 bill without Husband imploding right in front of my very eyeballs … ?
hmmmm.

& that’s when I remembered the chilled, unopened bottle of H20 in the back seat of our vehicle, perfect for this hot, humid, August evening.

Here you go !! I exclaimed. I figured you’re probably thirsty.
He. Was.
& grateful, he thanked, thanked and thanked.

YaY

I was happy.
He was happy.
Life is truly good.

A packed, rush-hour highway was were Husband and I landed next.
And URGH.
Merging brings out my nervous vibe.
eek.
Ready.
Steady.
Here I go …
And do you know the kindest of souls offered an instant entry, with a move of his hand to a sure, go ahead beat ?

!! Karma returned !!
I chimed, as I was certain one good deed ever so easily, domino-ed into another.
And as I relaxed into the 2 hour drive home, to the background mutters of Husband’s YOU KNOW, THERE WAS A “WE”RE HIRING” SIGN AT THE GAS STATION …
confident, when Sis heard this tale, she’d absolutely agree

’cause, yep.
It might be Jesus.
You. Just. Never. Know.
