Forgive and Forget
Forgive …

Forget …

You make it sound SO. EASY. Forgive and Forget …

But truth be told ?? I tend to hang on tight to grudges, to humphs, to THAT’S IT. I’M DONE. And yep, oftentimes stubbornness is my very worse enemy. So as I sat at a memorial service yesterday, for a someone who left this life way too soon,

my mind wandered to those human beings I’ve BIG BOLD MARKER-ED off my list with an insistent NEVER AGAIN. And as I stared at my friend Jesus hanging on that awful cross, I asked the not so nice part of me … Could I ? Would I ??? SHOULD I ???
Why YES !! SURE !! I immediately responded to me. My mulish self HAS reached a point of forgive ’cause FORGET the origin of my mad, I do.
SO. THERE.
I’m talking forgive-FORGIVE, Jesus on that cross whispered.

COULD you ?? WOULD you ?? SHOULD you ??
& in my well gee, when you put it THAT way !! I pivoted my attention back to why I was in church in the first place and shhhhh-ed with a We’ll talk about it later, J, I PROMISE. Because sweeping honest to goodness feelings under the rug is easier than admitting.
But as I busy my way throughout this gift of today,

reminding my brain how very blessed this road I travel has been, I’m feeling a shift from could I ?? would I ?? to can I ?? will I ??
And you make it sound SO. EASY. Forgive AND Forget ...
