Summed Up
Here’s a little known fact …
I have a charm bracelet tattoo on my left wrist.
I’ve had it for a few years now, got it when I turned 50.
It was my birthday present to me because I have always wanted a tattoo.
What took me so long to get a one ?
Because I needed to be absolutely certain of what I wanted permanently painted on my body before I permanently painted it on my body
and it took me alllllll those years to decide.
My charm bracelet has four symbols.
A cross
A Chicago Bears “C”
A smiley face
& an exclamation point.
Those symbols pretty much sum up me
& although I love my family, clouds, Barry Manilow and trees, I don’t want be known as the way tooooooo many tattoo lady.
When I first received my tattoo, I was a little shy about letting certain people see it.
I guess I felt I had an image to uphold…?
Worried about what “they” would think …?
Who knows.
Something happened between then and now.
I show it proudly now
& I love it.
Because it took YEARS to get to this content, comfortable, happy place
& a simple glance at my wrist confirms that Me, Myself and I have finally arrived
& we are sooooooo here to stay.
