We met by chance,
quite a few whiles ago.
One gifts inspiration.
One shares songs.
& I thank the universe, often,
for placing such amazing souls onto my path.
Just the other day, realizing,
is the one and only song I’ve ever actually liked

my songster friend persistently suggested I listen to her latest album
& knowing I probably wouldn’t follow through,
he did what he do and
sent me the whole batch anyways
& in return he received my solemn, albeit, half-hearted

One tune in particular jumped up and out and insisted I pay attention

quiet mantra.
so much so
I jotted the words
and placed into my Red Book.
!! I know !!
!! shocking !!
But as I enter this brand new today, I count the many someone-s who keep me above,
all the time,
every time
and my heart turns to mush as I acknowledge how incredibly blessed I am
& yes …
