Small talk, really, about the weather, the this, the that, the simple somethings one vocalizes to find common ground in this temporary, paths crossed moment.
& just like that, in a

remarkable happened.
Turns out, this other someone loves certain somethings as much as I do,
like cutting her grass,
like music in her ears,
like counting steps and adoring the same park trail as I,
like trees
and clouds,
dodging raindrops
and waiting on the sunrise.
It’s as if I was speaking to a version of me
her kids
my kids
her husband
my husband
her family and friends …
