Paused
Somewhere in the busyness of these last few weeks, I’ve caught a how in the world did this happen ?? totally out of the blue, bout of laryngitis.
Yep.
Poof.
Just like that.
I went from normal sounding me
to a sultry, smoky rasp
to squeak squeak GONE
& just in case you’re wondering, the answers are
Yes.
This brings a dash of delight to a certain someone who shall remain anonymous and
Yes.
The man I call Dad has trouble communicating with me because he literally cannot hear a word I say
But I’m not here to feel sorry for or seek sympathy.
Nope.
I am here to report.
You see, whilst hoarse, I’ve conducted a not so scientific, but interesting all the same, study that
I’ve lovingly dubbed, Paused

because that is exactly what I’ve had to do since Tuesday.
I’ve thought.
I’ve waited.
I’ve pondered.
I’ve wrestled with are these words I’m so desperately wanting to utter worth the struggle ?!?
I’ve shortened my sentences and gaaaa ! never mind ! a thousand times.
& I’ve rediscovered the pure joy of saying absolutely nothing at all.
ahhhhh.
It’s quite pleasant.
In fact, I am so thrilled with my delay before I say results, I might just keep doing !
weeeeee.
Reaching internally before expressing externally ?
Momentarily postponing before setting words free ?
Listening instead of instantly reacting ?
Understanding before concluding ?
hmmmm.
A stillness.
A quiet.
A gather before I speak.
WoW
That sounds like a genius of a plan, if I do say so myself.
Glad I vocalized.
🙂
