Yes, I too, witnessed surreal on ESPN last night, when a stadium went silent, when the universe reminded, GAME, when a 24 year old became the sole focus and nothing. else. mattered.

And, I too, sent a please !! please !!  to Jesus for this human being on a playing field, repeating the frantic words whispered to Mom so many years ago … Don’t you leave me, DON’T YOU LEAVE ME ! directed to a someone I’ve never met, edited for his mama.

And I too, can’t stop thinking about Damar Hamlin this morning, praying he’s ok, wondering what’s next, mesmerized by the fact that this young soul for one, beautifully brief, collective moment, united a nation. The noise, the clutter, the every, single, everything STOPPED.

To acknowledge.

As I go about today, checking and double-checking health updates, I will carry this feeling of complete abandonment with me, hoping this horrific, terrifying, split second in time, will vault us back to where we began.
