Somewhere Before

Somewhere Before

She toddled right up, with her 1-year-old glee, and began a bubbly, babble-y, reuniting with a BFF  conversation, spilling her secrets to a trusted someone, and as her mama and I giggled with a wouldja look at that … ?!??!! Husband place this little soul he just now met on his lap to continue their catch up. Every now and again, she’d waddle away to discover something new, but would inevitably find her way back to the man in a lawn chair. And wow, I heard myself comment, it’s like they know each other from somewhere before.

There’s this bulk of a dog I see every once in a while on my walking trail, friendly guy, he most certainly is, with his STOP. right. smack. HERE. so I can get a belly rub. And at first, his person and I acknowledged this insistence with our meet-and-greets with a yeah, he’s an affectionate pup …  but the other day, when hunkered in our tracks, we were, the woman who knows this critter so well, whispered, it’s like he knows you from somewhere before.

wow

Those who follow this blog, might notice I use the hashtags #childrenknow and #natureknows  while placing my words on Instagram or Twitter. I’m thinking I’ll add #iknow to the list because, I too, have experienced this invisible pull, this cosmic link, where I am !! certain !! I’ve talked to, laughed, cried, sang and understood with certain people in my life, before. It’s mystifying. It’s real. It’s a comfort beyond description. And happy, I am, we’ve found each other again.

& the next time someone sighs those wonderful words of … somewhere before … I’ll smile, I’ll appreciate, I’ll agree.
