This Land
Pretty sure I was in 7th or 8th grade the last time
visited my brain.
But there those lyrics frolic and play, over and over
and over.
& I’m pretty sure we all know July 4th is the favorite of all my favorites
so one would think, I’m walking on a cloud, all giddy and anticipating and woohoo-ing and …
YeP.
It’s yours.
It’s mine.
It’s ours.
& today, as the sun slowly rises to a brand new 24,
I’m trying my darnedest to focused upon the good
and to keep my vibe far, far away from the doubters, the insinuate-rs, the dismal souls who rant and rave, who thrive on sharing hatefulness with their social media dwellers.
How dare you use such a high pedestal to spread such pessimism.
My point of view seeks light, bright, happiness and simple things, the every day everything-s that makes we the people, WE THE PEOPLE.
I realize we’re not perfect, but I know who we are,
solid, hopeful, strong and confident
and I refuse to go down a path of negativity.
so YaY, !! America !! on this, your eve eve,
I’ll say it LOUD.
I’ll say it proud.
I love.
I celebrate.
I’ll forever and ever and ever ever ever sing … !! ….
this land was made for you and me.
🙂
